Margaret McCrary Moore Bodien, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away on April 12, 2019 in Irving, Texas. Born April 23, 1924 in Humphreys County, Tennessee, to Hugh H. and Bess Moore, Margaret spent much of her childhood in Tennessee and Oklahoma.
Margaret is survived by daughter Jane Skinner and husband Bob of Carrollton; son, Bob Bodien and wife Mary of Mansfield; grandchildren Stephanie Skinner of Monroe, LA, Justin Bodien and wife Erin of Beverly Hills, CA, Clint Bodien and wife Amanda of Midlothian; great-grandchildren Logan and Emma Bodien; and her nieces and their husbands. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert M. Bodien, Sr. and her only sibling, Ann Drumheller Hillyer.
Margaret taught in the Irving ISD for many years as an elementary and resource teacher. All who knew her benefitted from her contagious love of learning. The consummate educator, Margaret made her final contribution to teaching as a member of the Willed Body Program at UT Southwestern Medical School.
The family would like to express appreciation to all the wonderful caregivers who showed great kindness and care to Margaret at both Brookdale Senior Living and Northgate Plaza Rehabilitation Center in Irving.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 2pm in the chapel at Irving Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to UT Southwestern Medical School, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the charity of your choice.
