Industrial operations for tech and consumer giant Samsung will be near-doubled this summer at their new location in Duke Realty’s Point West Industrial Park near Interstate 635 in Coppell.
The company’s new location at 240 Dividend Drive near DFW Airport yields 546,027 square feet of space in the building-on-property alone. This was confirmed by Duke Realty regional senior vice president Jeff Thornton last Wednesday.
Changes for the telecommunications firm’s North Texas operations come with a greater commitment to the location, as well as rising demands. This is on trend with developments for the last ten years, as Samsung Telecommunications America leased more than 250,000 square feet of space in the business campus in 2009 and moved a 500-job operation from Plano. Since then operations have grown exponentially.
Following this expansion, the firm now occupies more than 1.46 million square feet of Class A industrial space with Duke Realty in a bustling sub-market. This contributes to Samsung’s already huge presence in the DFW job market. The firm fills over 1,000 positions in a regional office location in Plano’s Legacy Central development on US Highway 75, and has recently filed permits to expand the location by 75,000 square feet.
In the last ten years, Samsung has expanded industrial and office spaces vastly. A spokesman from the tech firm stated “We are always looking for opportunities to enhance our existing space to support our mobile business operations,” in a statement released via Samsung’s mailing list. Operations being doubled across the DFW metroplex should result in the creation of over 1000 new jobs between Plano office locations and Coppell industrial locations alone.
