Ruth Hamilton, 84, a resident of Irving since 1972, died Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Baylor, Scott, and White Medical Center in Irving. Born January 22, 1936 in Hereford, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Strange and Mabel Curtsinger Strange. She graduated from high school in Hereford. She married F. R. Hamilton, Jr. June 18, 1976 in Prosper, Texas. He preceded her in death October 1, 1990. She was a retired bookkeeper and member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Carlton Chadwell of Allen, Kirby Chadwell and wife Terri of Garland, Terry Chadwell of Argyle, and Clay Chadwell of Saginaw; two sisters, Ree Sheck of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Rosie Klein of Las Cruces, New Mexico; two brothers, Virgil Strange of Denton and Robert Strange of Hereford; nine grandchildren, Katie Chadwell, Kenny Chadwell, Kimberly Russell and husband Phillip, Christina Short and husband Ross, Cody Chadwell, Stacy Chadwell, Rebecca Hunt and husband Jared, Andrew Chadwell and Jake Chadwell; and two great grandsons, Oliver Russell and Henry Russell.
Services were at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ken Branam officiated. Burial at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
