Ed Gaddy

William Edmund Gaddy (Ed) was born in Dumas, Arkansas on September 15, 1934 to Effie Wagley. During these times, it was tough for Effie, and she allowed James Lee and Dorothy Gaddy to adopt him at 8 months of age. Ed was welcomed into a family by 3 brothers (James Lee, Harold, and JLee) and 1 sister (Sue) and who have since preceded him in death. Ed married Nita F. Malone on 12 April 1957 in Arkansas. Nita preceded him in death on 31 October 2002. Ed served in the military and then had one job when he got out of the service. The family settled in the DFW area in the 1960s. Ed was a wonderful cook, expert peanut brittle maker, and enjoyed working with his hands. Ed and Nita also enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Circle I square dancing club. He squared dance with her and then after her death. He had an upfront personality and enjoyed talking about the wars of the past, watching about the past based on history, and watching sports of any kind. His kind and gentle nature allowed him to be liked by all.  Ed and Nita had 2 children, C. Susanne Gaddy (Johnny D. Haynes) and William Edmund Gaddy, Jr. (Barbara Botten), 2 grandchildren, Adrienne E. Haynes (Jason Kendrick) and William Michael Haynes (Katie Yankov), and 4 great-grandchildren (Peyton, James and Penelope Kendrick; Jack E. Haynes).
