Man pleads guilty to murder

Jacoby Mikel Jones, 27, of Irving pleaded guilty to murder on June 2. According to Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office reports, Jones shot and killed 38-year-old Eduardo Pedroza of Roanoke on Jan. 9, 2021.

Jones, Ungu Ngandu, 18 at the time, of Grand Prairie, and another person met Pedroza to sell him a gun in exchange for cash. During the transaction, Jones and the others drove away without giving Pedroza the gun.

As Pedroza jumped onto the back of the vehicle, Jones fired at him from the passenger side window, striking and killing him then drove away leaving Pedroza's body on Teague Road in southeast Tarrant County. A passing motorist called 911.
