Betty Jo Collinsworth Fulbright

Betty Jo Collinsworth Fulbright gained her wings on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 3:40 a.m. in Grand Prairie, surrounded by family. Betty was born Betty Jo Collinsworth on January 19, 1933 in at 219 Walnut Street; Frisco, Texas to William Canada Collinsworth and Lucy Magnolia Mitchell Collinsworth. Betty grew up in Plano graduated in 1950. After marrying the love of her life, Ed and Betty moved to Irving where Ed bought a pawn shop becoming a longtime Irving residents active in church and with many charity organizations. In 2013, she lost Ed, but she had the support of family and thrived for many years. She is survived by her three children: Debra Kitchens and husband Bruce of Irving; David Fulbright and wife Beverly and Darryl Fulbright and wife Kay. Grandchildren Jennifer Boss and husband Michael; Brent Kitchens and wife Emery; Jason Fulbright and his Bobbie; Allen Fulbright and wife Crystal; Colin Fulbright and wife Nicole; Dr. Cameron Fulbright of Houston and Dr. Devon Way and husband Michael. Great grandchildren Taylor Boss; Meagan Garza and husband Matt; Adley and Grant Kitchens; Grayson, Madeline, Lincoln, Gavin and Oliver Fulbright. Two great-great-grandchildren Alexandria and Ellie Garza of San Marcos. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Edna Nanny of Arlington; brother-in-law, Tommy Fulbright of Windthorst, Texas and sister-in-law June Locke of Grand Prairie and many nieces and nephews. Many, many friends and her special niece, Carolyn Collinsworth Steging. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, six brothers, one sister and many, many friends. The family will receive friends Friday, July 26, 2024 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral service will occur on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside Church Of Christ, 150 East Beltline Road in Coppell, Texas. Prior to the service there will be time to gather for fellowship and barbeque at the church beginning at noon until the service begins. Burial will occur following the funeral at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas.
