Essentials Before Starting a Business

This class will look at the differences between side hustles and businesses (both are GREAT, but there are differences), deciding whether you should get an LLC or not, the actual steps of opening a business, and common reasons businesses fail (so you can avoid those).

Annual Black History Program

Irving Black Arts Council presents their annual black history program. Experience a journey through black history, celebrating resilience, love, family and artistry. The program includes the USPS Black Heritage Month stamp unveiling and a featured presentation by Janet Forney, “A Poetic Journey through Time” inspired by the stories and poetry of literary icons from the Harlem Renaissance and beyond.
The event is free to attend. No RSVP or ticket necessary.

 

Duncanville Police Town Hall Meeting

In response to resident concerns about federal policy changes, the City of Duncanville and the Duncanville Police Department are hosting a Town Hall Meeting. The goal of this meeting is to provide an open platform for residents to ask questions, voice concerns, and engage in productive dialogue regarding topics that matter to you.

Your Teenager Isn’t Crazy
Tuesday, February 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Chris Guzniczak, LPC., with Flower Mound Counseling, returns to the library to talk about parenting adolescents. In this program, Chris will discuss some of the challenges faced by teens and how it's impacting their families. He will also discuss red flags parents can watch for and will share a technique for connecting with, and communicating effectively with, teens. The program will be hands-on and participants will get a worksheet to practice and to take home. This program is geared for parents of teenagers, but all adults are welcome.
No registration is required.
