MARK CUBAN HEROES BASKETBALL CENTER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARKLAND HEALTH TO HOST NO-COST MAMMOGRAMS SAVE LIVES EVENT ON SATURDAY, MARCH 22

While registration for mammograms is full, the free event will offer blood pressure screenings, glucose monitoring and health resources for women, plus a one-hour boot camp and pamper experiences such as chair massages, mini facials, makeup tutorials, swag bags and more


WHAT:                  Recognizing the critical role of early detection in breast cancer treatment, the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center is partnering with Parkland Health to host the Mammograms Save Lives event on Saturday, March 22, from 7 a.m. to noon. Free and open to the public, the event will offer no-cost mammograms for women ages 40 and up, blood pressure screenings and glucose monitoring plus pampering services such as chair massages, mini facials and makeup tutorials – all designed to emphasize the importance of women’s health and self-care. The morning kicks off with a one-hour boot camp led by Team Bailey Fitness in the gym at 7 a.m. followed by line dancing at 8 a.m.

While registration for the no-cost mammograms is full, women are still invited to come out and take advantage of the other free services. There will also be opportunities to schedule future no-cost mammograms with Parkland Health.

Due to HIPPA protocols, attendees who consent to be photographed will have a wristband on.


WHEN:                 Saturday, March 22, from 7 a.m.-noon. The morning kicks off with a boot camp at 7 a.m. followed by line dancing at 8 a.m. Chair massages provided from 7:45-10:45 a.m.

PARKING:            Media parking is available near the garden at the Center. Please enter via the gate off Southerland Ave.


WHY:                     According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, with early detection playing a key role in reducing mortality rates. Mammograms can reduce the risk of dying from breast cancer by up to 30% in women aged 40-74, making events like Mammograms Save Lives essential for raising awareness and encouraging women to prioritize their health.


ABOUT THE MARK CUBAN HEROES BASKETBALL CENTER. The Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center is a multi-purpose facility for neighborhood youth and families providing sports and leadership programs. The Center expanded its services to address the critical needs arising during the pandemic related to food insecurity, including the distribution of afterschool snacks, meals and food boxes to neighborhood families.
