Cedar Hill—The Cedar Hill High School girls’ soccer team capped its season by appearing in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) playoffs for the first time since 2017.

The Lady Longhorns (8-9-5) lost their first-round playoff match 3-0 to Harker Heights at Robinson High School in Waco on Thursday, Mar. 20. The team recorded two assists from junior Kasi Yonkey and boasted three different goal scorers.

Cedar Hill battled through the ultra-tough District 6A-11, finishing 6-4-4 in district play. It was good for fourth place and a high enough standing to punch its first playoff ticket in eight seasons. The district was led by perennial girls’ powerhouse Duncanville, with Mesquite Horn and Waxahachie capturing the top three spots in the district standings.
