Bishop Dunne’s 5th Annual LitFest Brings Renowned Authors to Oak Cliff, Featuring NYT Bestselling Author Nic Stone

DALLAS, TX – Bishop Dunne Catholic School is proud to host its 5th annual
LitFest, a dynamic celebration of the written and spoken word designed to inspire a love of
literature and language among students, educators, and the greater community. This year’s event
will take place on April 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Bishop Dunne campus in Oak Cliff,
welcoming the #1 New York Times bestselling author Nic Stone.
Nic Stone, acclaimed for her bold storytelling and thought-provoking novels, is best known for
her groundbreaking works Dear Martin, Dear Justyce, and her latest novel, Dear Manny. Her
writing explores pressing social issues such as race, justice, and identity, sparking critical
conversations across the country. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with
Stone as she discusses her work and the power of storytelling to create change.
Since its inception, LitFest has provided an enriching experience that fosters critical thinking,
creativity, and meaningful discussions. Through author talks, panel discussions, and interactive
sessions, each year attendees gain a deeper appreciation for literature and its ability to explore
contemporary issues in creative ways. Past speakers have included Jesmyn Ward, Jason Carney,
Eric Barclay, Jason Reynolds, Matt de la Peña, Heidi Durrow, and Gene Luen Yang.

Students may attend for free but must register in advance through the
website. A meet and greet with author Nic Stone is available for VIP ticket holders.
