Collision claims two lives 

Grand Prairie Police—The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a double fatality accident that occurred at SE 8th Street and Teal Drive on May 4 at approximately 9:30 p.m. 

The driver of a Ford truck traveling south on SE 8th Street left the roadway and collided with a tree near Teal Drive. The driver and a passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other passengers were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.  

Investigators have not ruled out that speed and alcohol may be a factor in the collision.  

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified.  

The collision remains under investigation.
