From the Grand Prairie Libriary: Libraries Offer Summer Fun For All Ages

June 06, 2025

The Grand Prairie Libraries offer summer fun, great books, and fantastic programs for all ages this summer. The Summer Reading Club encourages readers of all ages to dive into books throughout the summer months.

This summer, track all your reading through Beanstack, our easy-to-use online reading platform. Visit gptx.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack app and create a free account for yourself or your whole family in just a few taps. Be sure to search for the Grand Prairie Library so you can join our Color Our World Summer Reading Club.

As you read, you'll earn badges. For every badge, kids can visit the library to claim a prize—like a treasure chest item, a coupon, or a free book!

Teens & adults can use their badges to enter prize drawings directly in Beanstack.

Each Friday this summer, the Library presents a special performer, appearing at each library branch: The Warmack Library at 10:30 a.m., the Main Library at 1 p.m., and the Shotwell Library at 3:30 p.m.. See our Friday schedule here.

We have too many programs to list, so visit our online calendar, or view our summer program guide. You can also pick up a copy of our guide at any library location.

We'll close out the summer with a Wild Wonders End of Summer Party. Join us Thursday, July 31 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Main Library. Explore the art of nature through hands-on crafts and activities, a bounce house, fun giveaways, and a special toddler play area. There will be a special activity exclusively for teens and adults—so everyone’s invited to join the fun as we say goodbye to summer with wonder, imagination, and nature-inspired art!

Your libraries are a source of information, creativity, fun and community. When you read, enjoy fun activities and attend great programs,  you help Color Our World!
