Murder suspect arrested

UPDATE:
Based on evidence recovered at the scene, detectives identified the suspect as Keionn Winters, 18 years of age. On May 27, with the assistance of the United States Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, Winters was arrested at his residence for Capital Murder. Winters is currently at the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond set at $1,000,000.

The Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of W. Tarrant Road on Sunday, April 27, at around 4:30 p.m. Officers located a male, outside of his vehicle, with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where medical staff later pronounced him deceased. The suspect(s) fled the area prior to officers’ arrival and was not located.
Based on evidence recovered at the scene, detectives believe the deceased was engaged in high-risk activity when the shooting occurred.
