From the City of Coppell: City of Coppell Seeks Applicants to Serve on Boards and Commissions

August 11, 2025

COPPELL – If you’ve ever wanted to make a real difference in your community, now is the perfect time to step up and get involved. The City of Coppell will begin accepting applications for a variety of boards, commissions, and task forces at 8 am on Monday, August 11, and we’re looking for passionate residents to help guide important decisions that affect the future of our city.
Whether you’re inspired to make your voice heard, bring fresh ideas to the table, or help shape the direction of Coppell, this is your chance to become an active participant in local government.

Applications will be open from 8 am Monday, August 11, to 4 pm on Tuesday, September 9, at coppelltx.gov/boards.

No matter your background or interests, there’s likely a board that’s the right fit for you:

  • Regular at the Cozby Library? Consider the Library Board.
  • Passionate about housing trends or affordability? The FOARD Task Force might be calling your name.
  • Have big ideas about using tech to improve how we use resources? Explore the Smart City Board.
This opportunity isn’t just for adults! Students in grades 7–11 who live in Coppell can apply to serve as Youth Advisors on the Library, Smart City, or Parks and Recreation Board. It’s a fantastic way to learn about government, build leadership skills, and prepare for the future.
By volunteering your time and expertise, you’ll help ensure that City services, policies, and initiatives reflect the needs and values of Coppell residents, businesses, and organizations.
Boards and commissions applicants must have lived in Coppell for at least one year and must be registered to vote in Coppell.
If you are unable to apply online or need assistance, please visit the City Secretary’s Office at Coppell Town Center, 255 Parkway Blvd., call 972-462-0022, or email citysec@coppelltx.gov.
