Police investigate fatality accident

Grand Prairie—The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that occurred along IH-30 westbound at MacArthur Blvd at approximately 1:55 a.m. on Aug. 1.
A Chrysler passenger car became disabled in the right lane of traffic, and a Ford 150 struck the Chrysler from behind. The driver of the Ford continued westbound until it became disabled at which point the driver fled on foot. During a search of the area, officers located the driver and placed him under arrest. He was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Chrysler was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grand Prairie Fire Department Medics. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin are notified.
The driver of the Ford was charged with a Collision Involving Death and Intoxication Manslaughter. The collision remains under investigation.
