Dorothy “Dottie” (Hale) Huse

December 21, 2023

Dorothy “Dottie” (Hale) Huse was born on September 16, 1936 in Dallas, Texas. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on December 12, 2023. She was 87 years of age.

Dottie is survived by her children Sherry Huse, Mark Huse, Suzanne Huse, Kyle Huse and grandchildren Eric Huse and his wife Madison, Ryan Huse and Madison Huse, along with many loyal friends and extended family. Dottie was predeceased by her loving husband Joe Huse, daughter Angelina Self, mother Cora Hale, father Charlie Raymond Hale and brother Charles Ray Hale.

Dottie and Joe met in 1955 at Senter swimming pool which started a nearly 60-year love affair. Dottie studied nursing at Baylor University. Joe courted her long distance and he would visit almost every weekend. After a little over a year, she left Baylor when her father passed away and moved back home to marry Joe, the love of her life.

Joe and Dottie were married in 1956 and were lifetime residents in Irving, Texas. Dottie had several small jobs in the beginning of their marriage. She especially enjoyed being a dance instructor at Steven Quirk’s Dance Studio. Dot-tie truly found her calling when she joined Mary Kay Cosmetics in 1964, just one year after the company was created, becoming a Senior Sales Director in record time. She was the quintessential Mary Kay lady and a close friend to Mary Kay herself. She won and drove pink Cadillacs our entire lives. We all have stories of those pink Cadillacs and Mary Kay parties. She would never step out of the house without being completely put together, full make-up and dressed to the nines.

Her sense of humor was also a hallmark of who she was as a person. Even at the end she found a way to smile, laugh, and make fun of the situation. Dottie will be remembered for her love of life, love of Christ, and mostly love of her family.

Funeral services were held Wednesday Dec. 20th at Colonial Funeral Home of Irving. She was laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
