Woman arrested after deadly crash
Grand Prairie—The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday, March 17 at approximately 7:20 a.m.
A Dodge Ram truck was traveling south on Belt Line Road when the driver failed to maintain a single lane, driving into the northbound lanes and colliding with a Jeep SUV. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger of the Jeep was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, identified as Clesiz Leiva, 24 years of age, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. She was later released from the hospital and placed under arrest for Intoxication Manslaughter and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Leiva is currently located in the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond of $100,000 for Intoxication Manslaughter and a bond of $25,000.00 for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas Medical Examiner's Office.
This collision remains under investigation.
