Bobbie Gwendolyn (Warren) Smith
Bobbie Gwendolyn (Warren) Smith, age 93, passed away March 19, 2024 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Irving, Texas, at 1:35 p.m. Bobbie was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on June 1, 1930 to Robert and Lucy Warren at her Grandma Moore’s house. She was raised in Mineral Wells with her older sister Geneva and younger sister Alvarine. Bobbie graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1948. She worked at Perry Brothers after high school and then at JC Penny where she often arranged the store’s window displays.
On May 17, 1958 she married the love of her life, Joe Yancy Smith of Mineral Wells. They had one son, Michael Yan Smith, in 1964. They remained in Mineral Wells until 1966 when they relocated to Richardson, TX where they lived for a few years until they relocated again to Irving, TX where they remained until her death. Bobbie began working as a nursery school teacher at the Around the Clock School in Irving when Michael began kindergarten there. No doubt to keep a close eye on him. She later became the Treasurer of the Credit Union for The Associates of North America in Las Colinas where she retired in 1995.
Bobbie enjoyed being out-side working in her yard and feeding the neighbor-hood birds and squirrels. But more than anything, she loved the Lord and her family. Especially her only grandchild, Tessa!
Bobbie is survived by her husband, Joe (Reuben) Smith; her son, Mike Smith and wife Candi; her grand-daughter, Tessa Smith; her sister Alvarine Kluck; and nephews Ken Taylor, Mark Taylor, Dean Neely, and Rusty Neely. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Geneva Neely.
