Irving—The city of Irving’s Fleet Services Department was named among the Top 50 Leading Fleets in the U.S. and Canada by ‘Government Fleet Magazine.’ This marks the fifth time the department has received the recognition.

"Irving's Fleet Services team drives excellence to new heights. This recognition serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence and keeping Irving clean and safe,” Mayor Rick Stopfer said. “Thank you to the team for their hard work and congratulations on this well-deserved achievement."

Irving’s Fleet Services Department manages the operation and maintenance of city vehicles and equipment, particularly fire apparatus, police cruisers and refuse trucks. The team continuously raises the bar for professionalism and dependability to ensure the city fleet and equipment remain operational daily.

The awards program, co-produced with the American Public Works Association and sponsored by Ford Pro, recognizes operations that are performing at a high level, particularly in fleet leadership, competitiveness, and efficiency, planning for the future, and overcoming challenges.

The 50 Leading Fleets represent the best in the industry. Rankings for the top 20 fleets as well as the top fleets in size categories: No. 1 small fleet (499 or fewer assets), No. 1 mid-size fleet (500-999 assets), and No. 1 large fleet (1,000 or more assets) will be announced at the Government Fleet Expo & Conference in May and featured in Government Fleet.
