Police issue capital murder update

Irving—The Irving Police Department arrested Escarleth Mejia, 30 years of age, on April 30, for “Hindering Apprehension of a Known Felon.” Mejia’s bond is waiting to be set and she is currently in custody at the Irving City Jail. Mejia aided Hector Vicente Paguada elude law enforcement and assisted Paguada flee the city after he murdered Juana Rodriguez, 55 years of age, and Nayeli Medina, 23 years of age.

The search continues for Paguada, and we ask the community to stay vigilant and to call 9-1-1 immediately if you know his whereabouts. Please do not attempt to contact or apprehend the suspect. We urge anyone to report those who may have assisted or are currently assisting the suspect.
