Woman murdered in parking lot

Irving—Officers responded to an “unknown” call for service in the 3100 block of Walnut Hill Lane on July 1, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered one female victim, Sucel Cuba Gomez, 42 years of age, deceased in the parking lot of the location with multiple stab wounds.

Prior to the officer's arrival, the suspect, Yunier Aldazabal, 44 years of age, fled the area in a vehicle. At approximately 9:00 a.m., officers located the vehicle occupied with the suspect inside parked in a parking lot in the 2800 block of W Irving Blvd. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, it was learned that the victim and suspect were in a dating relationship. The investigation is in the early stages and ongoing.
