Motorcyclist dies in accident

Coppell—The Coppell Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a single vehicle major accident in the area of 1400 S. Belt Line Rd. on Friday, Aug. 9, at approximately 5:54 p.m.

According to witnesses, a black 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed before losing control, sliding off the roadway and striking a utility pole.

The driver of the motorcycle, 23-year-old Dallas resident, Tayshawn Latimer, did not survive the accident.

At this time, alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and no other vehicles were involved.

The Coppell Police Department and the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office are still investigating the cause of the accident.
