Irving—The administration of Irving ISD recently learned that rumors of threats against IISD are sporadically circulating among the community on social media. Irving ISD schools remain safe and secure.
The Irving Police Department and the IISD Security Department investigated the matter. They concluded this is a hoax circulating primarily in West Texas and is not connected to IISD or any of its campuses.
IISD middle schools are named after state heroes, and two of our high schools are named after national heroes. As such, the names are shared by multiple schools in the state and nation, sometimes leading to confusion.
The police department and IISD’s security personnel have reassured IISD’s administrators there is no credible threat to IISD schools and no reason for alarm.
A healthy Dallas County requires great community news.
