Ward G. Parks

Ward G. Parks, 81, of Irving, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Plano, Texas, surrounded by family. Ward was born in Grangeville, Idaho, on May 15, 1943. He proudly served in the U.S. Army starting in 1965. He was honorably discharged in 1971, after serving in Vietnam and receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 Device. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Management from the University of Idaho in 1965 before joining the Army. He later earned a second Bachelor's Degree in Systems Analysis and Design from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984. Ward retired in June of 1993 from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) as the Chief of Systems for the Customer Facility Directorate. He also served as an officer of the American Legion Post 81 in Duncanville, TX. Ward had a deep love for his family. He enjoyed reading, Hershey candy bars and Pepsi. Ward will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
