Traffic collision claims life

Grand Prairie—The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in the 2600 block of S. Belt Line Road on Oct. 7 at approximately 10:40 a.m.  

A Chevrolet passenger car was traveling north on S. Belt Line Road when for unknown reasons, the driver veered into the southbound lanes, striking a Dodge passenger van. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.  

The driver of the Chevrolet passenger car succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical staff. The driver of the Dodge van is expected to survive.  

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office once next of kin have been notified.   

This collision remains under investigation.
