Police investigate homicide 

Grand Prairie—On Saturday, Jan. 4, at around 1:15 a.m., the Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of Silverado Trail. Officers located a male in the street with apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported by medics to a local hospital where medical staff later pronounced him deceased.  

The suspect(s) fled the area prior to officers’ arrival and was not located.  

Based on evidence recovered at the scene, detectives believe the deceased was engaged in high-risk activity when the shooting occurred.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiners Officer once the next of kin have been notified.
